I am a wife to a farmer almost as laid back as me, a mom to two boys who keep me on my toes, and a photographer of families who embrace a little chaos. I am a Netflix addict and Bachelor fan, a homebody trying find my groove as a homemaker, a tea drinker who turned to coffee after kid #2, and a creative who needs to be challenged.
I am 29, super easy going (though very stubborn), and I enjoy a slow paced lifestyle with regular lavender baths. My car is always a mess, I suck at sports, I hate bugs, and I have anxiety on airplanes. I enjoy dance parties with my kids, game nights with family, long talks with friends, and movie nights with my husband. Hi. I'm Robin.

I want to look back at photos of my family and remember not just how we all looked, but how our lives looked and felt. The sweet, the funny, the chaotic, the frustrating... all of it!
Is there anything less predictable then child birth? The struggle is REAL bringing these humans into the world. But I think we can all agree on one constant... the immediate love parents feel when that baby is born is INTENSE! For a hospital session, we will use your due date as a tentative booking, but we all know due dates mean nothing. So I will be "on call" in the weeks before and after that date. You would let me know any signs of labour and keep me posted. When it's time, I will show up and capture (post birth) moments exactly as they happen, for a few hours, and then be on my way so you can enjoy that quality time knowing it's a memory that will never be lost.
They're here! You're home! And now life carries on a new way. There is so much flexibility with the timeline of an at home session. We can shoot in the days following birth and capture the struggles of a healing body, the new relationship with siblings, an adjusting routine... or we can wait a month. A one month old baby is more alert and starts showing more personality. Your routines are a bit more established, and moms are feeling better. Whatever stage you choose to have documented, your photos will surely be like no one elses! And that's the magic of it all.
First, we pick a day. Then we'll come up with a few activities and/or routine parts of your day, to document. The sky is limit here! Scroll down for some ideas, but I'm all ears for anything else you might have in mind. Maybe something you like to do as family, a tradition, a special occasion (surprising your family with a new pet?)... consider what your kids' current passions are... memorable routines like bath and bedtime... anything goes! Then I photograph these moments without any posing or influencing. You don't have to bribe your kids to say cheese, we don't need a perfect backdrop, you don't need colour coordinated outfits. You just hang out as a family, be yourselves, and let me worry about the rest.
I find it best to start the session with the posed portraits. And after those are done everyone can carry on hanging out while I document moments as I see them. Just like with an immediate family, it helps to plan a few activities ahead of time. Even if only for the kids. You can check out some ideas by scrolling up, but anything goes! Consider things that make your family special. Any traditions? For example, I will always think of my grandma for her baking, and my grandpa for our games of crib. These photos have the potential to be incredibly special! Let's chat and come up with a plan!
